Teams, Sprints & PIs
Almost every number in AgileNotes is scoped to a team, a Program Increment (PI), and a sprint (Scrum) or iteration / flow window (Kanban). The three header selectors set that scope.
Switching teams
Click the team selector in the header to jump between teams. Each team carries its own color (you’ll see it as a dot beside the name), its framework, its members, and its data. In the Demo you can switch between Dragons, Tigers, and Juggernauts.
Scrum vs Kanban
A team’s framework changes the vocabulary and the metrics throughout the app:
| Scrum / SAFe (Dragons, Tigers) | Kanban (Juggernauts) | |
|---|---|---|
| Time box | Sprint | Flow window (iteration) |
| Unfinished work | Rolls over to the next sprint | Persists; sliced into each window's date range |
| Headline metrics | Velocity, predictability, burndown | Throughput, cycle time, lead time, flow efficiency, aging WIP |
Wherever a view differs by framework, this manual notes it. If you’re a Scrum team, you can skip the Kanban-only callouts and vice-versa.
PIs and sprints
- The PI selector chooses the Program Increment — a quarter-sized planning horizon made up of several sprints/iterations.
- The sprint / iteration selector chooses the time box within that PI.
Many views also offer a scope toggle (for example Sprint View vs PI View) so you can look at just the current iteration or the whole increment without changing the header. You’ll meet those toggles on the Statistics, Charts, and Patterns views.
With scope set, the Dashboard is the natural place to start.
