Notes
The Notes view is your sprint memory — capturing the blockers, decisions, risks, questions, accomplishments, and observations that surface anywhere work gets discussed. Not just the events (planning, standups, refinement, review, retro), but the hallway conversation, the Slack thread, or a voice note from your phone on the way out of the room. Those notes also feed the metrics and the AI coaching.
Note types
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Blocker | Something stopping progress right now |
| Decision | A choice the team made (and why) |
| Risk | A potential problem worth watching |
| Question | An open question that needs an answer |
| Accomplishment | A win or a piece of work worth remembering |
| Action | A follow-up item someone owns |
| Dependency | Work you need from another team |
| Observation | An insight or note worth keeping |
| Summary | Paste in the AI recap or write your own wrap-up of a meeting, discussion, or event |
| General | Anything else |
The counts of unresolved blocker, risk, and dependency notes flow straight onto the Dashboard tiles, so keeping notes current keeps the metrics honest.
Sections
Notes are grouped in three sections: your sprint’s notes first, then Summary Notes (meeting summaries and AI narratives), then PI Notes. Meeting records get their own section so day-to-day blockers, actions, and decisions stay front and center.
Filtering & resolution
- The PI and Sprint/Iteration dropdowns let you read any past sprint’s notes without changing your header selection.
- Use the filter chips to view notes by type; the badges show how many of each exist.
- Toggle Show Resolved to include or hide resolved notes — resolved notes display with strikethrough.
Quick Capture
This is the heart of the product — the feature AgileNotes.AI is named for. Press Ctrl+Q anywhere in the app and a Quick Capture box pops open so you can record a thought the moment it happens — mid-standup, mid-refinement, mid-anything — without losing your place.
A capture takes seconds:
- Press Ctrl+Q (or click Capture in the bottom nav).
- Pick the note type from the cards on either side of the box — capture/insight types (general, observation, question, decision, summary) on the left, action and impediment types (blocker, dependency, risk, action, accomplishment) on the right. The selected type tints the whole composer in its color.
- Type the note — or speak it. Hit the mic to record (up to two minutes) and AgileNotes transcribes the audio into the note, so you can capture a thought hands-free on the way out of a room and tidy the text before saving.
- Optionally link it to a ticket so it shows up on that work item.
- Press Ctrl+S to save and keep moving.
Because capture is frictionless, the team’s memory actually gets written down instead of evaporating after the event. That captured stream is what powers the Dashboard counts, the Patterns insights, the AI standup, and the stakeholder reports.
Risk and blocker notes don’t just sit in a list — AgileNotes.AI promotes them into first-class, tracked items that the Patterns view and coaching lenses reason about.
